Checking In

Mike and I are feeling pretty settled (finally) at our new, temporary housing (thank you again to Clyde and Norma!) Remi is also getting used to his new place, but it is taking him a little longer. Here is a picture of him with Mike adjusting to his new back yard.

Norma went to Disney World with some friends and brought this back for Remi - How cute!
One of the big changes for Remi is that he no longer gets to sleep in the bed with me and Mike. We are trying to train him to sleep in our room, but on the floor. In the long run, this will be great for the new house, but right now - BIG CHANGE! Mike was laying on the floor the other night to help get him used to it - I thought this picture was pretty dang cute.

I thought you all might like to see a picture of my new favorite shirt! Mike and I went out to dinner on Friday night and then we were wandering around the Gateway mall. I saw this shirt at "Hot Topic" and just had to have it!! I think we should all decide the "life lesson" words that could go with each picture -- Money, Power, Life, etc. I LOVE THIS SHIRT!!!

House Update - Mike and I picked our exterior colors yesterday and we are setting up our "pre-construction" meeting. They said that should take about a week. Once we finish they will submit for permit and that will take about 4 weeks. Once they have their permit we are looking at 90 - 120 days for construction completion. Do the math - no way we will close in 2008, but oh well. Once we have our permit I will start a estimated countdown, can't wait!

FINALLY DONE!!

So - It is official - Mike and I are no longer "Tooele-ites" We were actually out on Sunday night, but things have been crazy and blogger was being weird. Sorry for the delay!

I love this picture of Mike, Adam and Eric looking at the empty POD. It makes me want to title it "Men being Men" or something. They did a great job getting everything to fit, and in record time!
Here they are again - working hard! (I swear I did more then just take pictures . . . ) Everyone cross your fingers that we get everything out of our POD with nothing broken!

See that small space in the front on the right? Yeah, we filled that too - We only lived in this house for 4 years and MAN - we sure had A LOT of Crap Collected!

Yes it took Mike and Adam on one side and only Eric on the other. When I was joking with Mike about it later he said "What? We are old and squishy" He kills me!
This picture was taken on our last night in Tooele. Mike and I have been talking about buying a new TV for the new house and he thought Saturday night would be a good time! I said "You want to go buy a new TV and then pack it up and move it tomorrow?" He replied "Yes, today has sucked and I want to do something fun!" so we did.
So here it is - our last night in Tooele. Our "slumber party" in the front room. We watched a movie on our new TV and then tried to get some sleep before the big final day. It was weird to leave our first house, but it made me feel grown up and happy that we are moving on to the 'next big thing' in our lives.

Today was actually our appointment with the design center for the new house that we are building. It took FOREVER, but it was really exciting to see some of what our new life will be like. We are really happy with our choices and you are all welcome to stop by once it is finally built!!

We are doing it again!!

Mike and I have decided that we would like to try and make going to a Dallas Cowboys game each year a tradition. This year we are going all the way and doing it SUPER SIZED. We will be flying into Dallas November 22, going to the Dallas/San Francisco game Sunday November 23, Hanging out in Dallas for 3 days, and then spending our Thanksgiving at the Dallas/Seattle game on November 27! We absolutely can not wait and we are crossing our fingers that we get to see a live touchdown this time!

GO COWBOYS!!

Moving Update!

This is a picture of a decal that I put on the mirror in our master bathroom (yes Mike loves it in case you were about to ask!) Anyway, our buyers asked if we would be willing to leave it when we move ------- does anyone besides me think that is hilarious?

I thought you might like to see some progress pictures of our house in its current state of craziness. Um, I don't know if you know this, but MOVING SUCKS! Mike told me the other day that we are never moving again.

The other day Remi had a runny nose, and he was shivering. I am not kidding -- his teeth were chattering and everything! I wrapped him up in a blanket and we nursed him back to health. Here he is snuggling with Mike during his healing.

Turns out that Remi really likes when our coffee table is out of the way! Mike and I were watching TV the other day and Remi wriggled his way in between Mike's legs and feel asleep like this. He makes me laugh so hard! Thank goodness for him - he is keeping me sane during this crazy time.

Stay tuned for more updates. Once we are solid on exactly where we are going and what we are doing, I will let you all know. In the meantime, Mike's parents have been nice enough to open their house to us so we are not homeless :)

Farewell Tooele

Well, for those of you that did not know (which there are many!) we listed our house for sale back in MARCH. (This should explain why we waited so long to say anything!)

We are not only officially under contract, but our buyers would like to move in ASAP. We are hoping to close the 15th of September and WOW that is soon! We are super excited and while Tooele has been good to us . . . . . .it will not be hard for me to say Good-bye!
