Houdini Dog

So I guess that Mike and I can only own dogs that are master escape artists! Here is what Lincoln was doing while I was trying to get ready for work this morning (obviously I stopped what I was doing so I could film him . . . . memories, right?)

I wonder how long it will be before he escapes, and then returns with a single payless shoe?

Our first week with 2 dogs

I would like to start by saying that I thought this was going to be WAY harder! Don't get me wrong - a puppy is a ton of work, but I had heard some horror stories about the awfulness of puppies. Maybe we just got a super good one?

Yes he chews on, well . . .everything, but it really is getting better and nothing has been destroyed (he is in big trouble if he goes near my new running shoes!) He has many accidents inside while we train him, but that is also getting better. After only a week? I am very proud!

He and Remi are doing 100% better and I think they are starting to realize that the other one isn't going anywhere. The only thing they fight over is bones. There are 2 bones and 2 dogs, so you would think that would be the end of it - but one of them always wants the other one, then they growl, then we separate them. I still think they will be friends soon.
This picture makes me believe that the friend thing will be sooner then later (awwwww!)
Monday of last week we didn't have a puppy sitter for Lincoln, we aren't comfortable with him being in the kennel with Remi yet, and he can't go that long without needing to go potty (many training articles said "potty" is the best word to use with puppies)

so . . . . . . .. He got to be an honorary Amsource Employee! He agrees that the market is hard right now, but he still enjoyed the work.

Yeah - the people at my office didn't mind that he was there either . . .. . .
And here is a video that makes me laugh every time. Is he scared? Is he fighting it? I guess he is just a puppy!!

And then there were 4

Meet Lincoln - The newest member of our family!

After months and months of talking about it, Mike and I decided we were ready to become a 2 dog family. We found this 8 week old yellow lab and brought him home last night. Last week I found a really good deal on a fire pit, so I thought we could have a little "welcome home" party in the backyard.

Lincoln hasn't been around any big dogs except his mom, and Remi has been king of the castle for awhile - things were a little (scratch that - A LOT) shaky for a bit. They were a lot like this picture - a giant black dog, and then a little yellow one saying "guys - are you seeing this? am I safe?"

He likes to hide in places that Remi is too big to fit - Under the chair is his current favorite
I think this picture states that he is feeling at home. Mike thinks he is just a funny sleeper.
Lincoln got some vistors today when Neve and Sam came over for awhile.
And here are my 2 boys enjoying bones together. Look! Maybe they will be friends after all . . . .

Good to know

A good friend (and recent marathon runner) told me I should have my feet analyzed to make sure I am wearing the right shoes. I decided to go do it today and I think you should go do it too! It was quite interesting to learn all about my feet and the way that I walk.

1. I have high arches

2. I put pressure on my heels when I stand

3. I put pressure on the outside of my feet when I walk

4. My feet are wide (oh yeah I already knew that)

Here are my new runing shoes! I hope that we will become fast friends and that they will be supportive in all my goals! When I showed them to Mike he said "they're purple."

Oh yeah and the store had a running ad on the wall that said "Because I am loving every awful minute of this" which I think is my new moto. Happy Running everyone!!

Is it Really Happening?

This add is in my current Shape magazine and I can't stop thinking "WOW!" I have also hung it above my treadmill (yes I know she is a swimmer) for "is it possible" inspiration.

I have not been able to run since last Thursday because of doctor's orders after my mouth surgery. Today was the first day back and I was NERVOUS. I got on and guess what? It really felt like I was back where I belong! I had the best run ever, felt good, kept good speed, just really felt awesome! Is this what they call a "runner's high?"

I had to post this because Really? Is it possible that I am becoming a runner?!?!?!?!!?
