What a Day!

My Memorial Day weekend goal was to get A LOT of projects done around the house. My list is long, but day one turned out incredible!
Task One - Make room in the garage for the boat (and organize!)
Our garage needed some TLC and some things were still just where we left them from move in day. Plus Mike really needs his boat to live at home with us.
Here are the final results

Also, we have been parking the truck on an angle, since the boat isn't there, and figured we should find its "correct spot." Here is how the truck has to be parked in order for the garage door to close.
YIKES
at least we can park it inside -- right?

Task two - Remove the awful, ugly, hideous old farmers fence in the backyard .
Our fence posts are being placed June 4th, this task was at the top of my list. Plus I didn't know what I was going to find once I started to dig. People at work had me worried about 5-8 foot holes and concrete bottoms.
This picture gives you a little idea of what we were working with. There was also A LOT of barbed wire between each post.
**BTW look at the bottom of the stairs -- they finally poured our pad! Nice to see our backyard starting to come together**
My war wounds from the barbed wire (I look kinda tuff though huh?!?!?!)

Well thank goodness for amazing neighbors. It just so happened that our neighbor was removing THE SAME fence from his own backyard! Luckily I have no problem talking to people (oops we haven't met them yet.) I walked up and asked what I was in for.
Our super nice, amazing, GIVING neighbor (Chris BTW) had a tractor and said "I'll come pull them out for you" WOW - how nice is that? He saved my weekend!

I love this picture of Mike.
This is probably the hardest work we will do ourselves in the backyard and because of Chris it went really fast and wasn't too bad! YEAH!

I now have way more time this weekend and am really excited to have 2 tasks crossed off my list!
I am also really excited that now when you pull up our blog, my puffy face is not the first thing that you see . . . . . . yikes, those pictures were scary.

Never met a Chris i didnt like.
I finished projects yesterday too but yours make mine look way sad. Okay we did the garage too but not so perfectly. so im guessing you have to hang a tennis ball to keep from hitting the house.

It is looking good! Think of all the calories you burned this weekend! (am I the only one worried about caloric intake & losing weight?) We can't wait to see you soon!

I bet Chris is going to be happy to have giving neighbors like you guys. We moved a little junk around in the garage and tossed a few things in the garbage, but obviously our garage still needs major help.
